Alliance Programs – 2022

We sponsor programs of our own, and highlight those of our members, that explore a range of topics from the perspective of the major faiths.

Here is a look back at our signature programs held in 2022.

The New Trier Multifaith Alliance, comprising 14 north suburban faith communities, hosted its annual Interfaith Thanksgiving Service on Tuesday, November 22, 2022, at 7:30 pm, at Winnetka Congregational Church, 725 Pine Street, Winnetka.

NTMA was excited and honored to host the Reverend Stephen Avino, Executive Director, Parliament of the World’s Religions, as the keynote speaker at this year’s Interfaith Thanksgiving Service.

The Alliance’s Interfaith Choir and representatives of various faith communities led attendees in music, prayer and thanksgiving.  The service was open to the general public, and many joined in this longstanding tradition–an inspiratational blend of song, prayer and insights.

Open House & General Meeting

October 19, 2022
Temple Jeremiah, Northfield

Description: At 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 19 (following refreshments at 6:30 p.m.), and within the “afterglow” of the High Holy Days celebrations, Temple Jeremiah will host an open house as well as a regular meeting of the New Trier Multifaith Alliance.

Background: The “Interfaith Understanding Committee” of NTMA, which is responsible for education and outreach, conducts a series of congregational visits in correlation with major occasions on the Interfaith Calendar.

Earlier this year, the Baha’i House of Worship opened its doors to members upon July’s commemoration of the life of the Bab, the herald of the Baha’i faith. Now we are pleased to visit Temple Jeremiah.

Agenda:

  • Refreshments will precede the program at 6:30 p.m. in the Temple’s lobby lounge.
  • At 7:00 p.m., Jeremiah clergy will provide an overview of Jewish worship, including an up-close look at the beautiful Sanctuary and a brief explanation of how its elements contribute to worship.
  • As always, there will be time for your questions and answers. Bring your curiosity!
  • Following the program at approximately 8:00 p.m., you are welcome to join in our regular meeting which includes planning updates on future events.
